CHILLI SAUCE & SETTING TRENDS

Trendsetters would talk about coffee beans and strange flavoured craft beers, now the word on the street and hot off the press is chilli sauce! That’s where we come in!!!

A discussion of a preference for true West Indian Scotch Bonnet or a Smokey Chipotle sauce (Smoked & dried Jalapeños often used in a variety of South American sauces, sweet and savoury) is bound to get heated. 

With a variety of hot sauce challenges on YouTube, as well as other social media outlets, it just proves we have some strange people out there.

The appeal of hot sauce seems to have a slightly masochistic delight in the pain and pleasure of the ensuing heat as we have discussed before. It's not for everyone, but some people also get a kick watching others test their strength of taste buds and will, in the face of the Scoville scale which is used to measure capsaicin’s the active chemical compounds which give chillies their heat.

 The wonderful World of Chillis… If your chucking together a curry, stir fry or just coating something from the BBQ then there's a chilli for you. The Habanero, related to the Scotch bonnet pepper is not quite as hot but has its own distinct fruity flavour. The Scotch bonnet as mentioned is usually found in Caribbean cuisine. and then there's the Naga, ghost chilli. Indian and very warm. We have Green and Red Birds Eye Chillis, great for the Asian dishes. As we also know, Chillis are also known to have a plethora of health benefits.
